We're BaAAAaaaaaack!

We'll be at the WOLFVILLE FARMER'S MARKET this Saturday and the Sackville Flea Market this Sunday.

It's been pretty hectic lately with the move to a new kitchen, My new job at the new bakery
BREAD WORKS
in Kentville, My grandparents returning to Canada and  Mum and Dad's trip to Atlanta for a trade show. Yeah. Hectic is an understatement.[

But we're slugging along and we hope to see you out in the lovely sunshine on Saturday!

Moving!!!

We are in the process of moving kitchens so please bear with us during the transition!

We are working to get a larger place so we can produce more and have a larger variety of products available every week.
We are going to be able to do more custom orders as well.

All this paperwork, packing and preperation is taking a lot of time and effort that would normally be devoted to baking.
(...and scheming)
The other good news is that this will allow us to do the Wolfville Farmer's Market EVERY week this summer as well as the Sackville Flea Market.

But we will be back on track soon and we look forward to seeing you at the market!

Busy little "B"

Things are hectic lately and i apologize for the lack of updates.
Work is chewing up a lot of my time and a LOT of my thought space in my "free" time.
However,
we are still making time to do the market(s) each week with fresh new products for all our fans, new and old, to try.
I think my boss may think i'm crazy. When he asked me if i had any plans for the weekend and i responded that
i had some baking to do.....
well....he just laughed. It's obsessive really.
But things are moving along at a steady pace....as they usually do what with the whole
"civilization developing methods of measuring time" thing.
Crazy whot.

AnYwHo... We will be at both the Wolfville Farmer's Market and the Sackville Flea Market this weekend and any of you food industry folks out there may run into me at the APEX FOOD SHOW in Halifax.
I'll be the stunning redhead with the perpetual light dusting of flour.

Aah the memories....

Some of you may remember a little something we used to serve called
Breakfast Bake
A delightful savory cousin of bread pudding made with
green onions,
peppers,
tomato,
cheese,
bacon,
garlic
&
herbs
served with sour cream and salsa.
It's a great way to break your fast!
We are debuting it at the Wolfville Farmer's Market this Saturday.
Those of you who remember it from before will be delighted to know we will have it in Sackville on Sunday too.

My Goodness,

Things have been kinda crazy for the last few months and I'm just getting used to the idea that things are settling a bit.
Having said that, I now await the chaos as the fecal matter impacts the oscillating wind generator.

AnYwHo...

We are trying a few new things this weekend for the Sackville Market

Blueberry Scones
Coffee Cake Muffins

as well as bringing back an old fave :

Moon Pies!

Of course we will have
Bread Pudding
 and a small assortment of
Cookies
as well as
Carrot Carry-Cakes

In case you were wondering...

Some of you have been wondering what sort of custom orders i do. Here is an example of a custom cake.

Started with white cake and a buttercream crumbcoat
chillin' in my fridge

Next, more buttercream! Like there can ever be enough.

Next, Smoothing on the rolled fondant

Adding fondant features make the character come alive.

Don't forget the ever important corperate sponsorship.
Money is money.

A bit of piping gel for added toonishness
and some edible sparkles to make that #95 shine!

And there you have it!
#95 Lightning McQueen
from Disney Pixar's CARS

That my friends, is a fun way to play with your food.

Crazy Holiday Season Winding Down...

Ok, i know i've been really lax in updating the blog over the holidays. I'm sorry.

We're going to the Sackville market this Sunday and hope to see you there! We'll have the usual stuff this week; chili, sandwiches, bread pudding, and a few types of cookies. We're keeping it minimal for now as we don't know what sort of demand there will be in the new year.

  In other news.
  • My computer has been barfy lately and has greatly diminished the joy i get from updating this blog. So i'll keep it short for now and hope for a new CPU in my future.
  • I'm taking belly dancing classes!Oriana from Sister Lotus has been kind enough to trade belly for belly and classes start on the 11th of January! Go check out her site: www.sisterlotus.com
  • I am currently in talks with the Wolfville Farmer's Market!I'm looking to start a bi-weekly trial to see what sort of response get from the locals. More news to follow.
